AC Milan President, Gerry Cardinale, apparently asked his club to spend more in this season’s transfer market but Zlatan Ibrahimovic rejected the request.
AC Milan did not make any lavish recruitment in this summer’s transfer market.
They only made permanent the status of defender Alex Jimenez who was previously on loan from Real Madrid for a fee of 5 million euros.
For the purchase of new players, the Red Devils only brought in Alvaro Morata from Atletico Madrid (13 million euros), Strahinja Pavlovic from Red Bull Salzburg (18), and Emerson Royal from Tottenham Hotspur (15).
The total spending of I Rossoneri so far has only reached 51 million euros or around 884 billion rupiah.
That figure is below Juventus (89.4 million euros), AS Roma (88.6), Atalanta (69.9), and Inter Milan (63.5).
However, AC Milan should be able to spend more money.
The reason is, AC Milan President, Gerry Cardinale, actually wants Il Diavolo Rosso to spend more.
However, the boss’s wishes were not approved by their former striker, Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Although not officially part of AC Milan’s management, Ibrahimovic is now strongly involved in the club’s internal issues including decision-making in the player transfer market.
